Dogs are susceptible to various diseases similarly to humans. They can suffer from illnesses such as epilepsy, cancer, diabetes, or arthritis.

However, it would be true to say dogs have suffered more because of their connection with humans.

The dog has been our companion and friend. It has worked side by side with us. We have bred dogs to look, act and perform for us.

Because of the use of commercial and homemade dog foods, nutrition has also become a well studied area for the health of a dog.
